The Goodwood Festival of Speed is rolling out the red carpet this year at MotoGP. A nice reminder of history since legend has it that the 10th Duke of Richmond and Earl of March, Charles Gordon-Lennox, had the idea for this gathering while riding the route on the handlebars of his Ducati. This 30th anniversary will therefore be an opportunity to put two wheels back in the spotlight. The drivers and Grand Prix machines will make up the entirety of an exceptional parade.

The 2023 grid teams already confirmed at the event are Teams Ducati Lenovo, Red Bull KTM, LCR Honda, GASGAS Tech3 as well as GASGAS Aspar Moto2 with British rider Jake Dixon. This list is expected to grow soon, as it's hard to imagine a single MotoGP team missing from this unique celebration.

All these beautiful people will be joined from July 13 to 16 at Goodwood by several legends of the discipline, including Giacomo Agostini, Mick Doohan, Jorge Lorenzo, Freddie Spencer, Casey Stoner, Kevin Schwantz, Wayne Gardner, Kenny Roberts Jr, Alex Crivillé and Randy Mamola, holding an incredible total of 35 World Championships between them.

MotoGP machines will benefit from a dedicated space in the Ballroom Paddock, just a few turns from the Goodwood Drivers' Club. Fans will be able to experience an exceptional immersion in the world of teams working on the machines.

The speed festival has always been the ideal meeting point to meet the biggest stars of motor sports. In 2022, Giacomo Agostini celebrated his 80th birthday there while the last edition celebrated another milestone as Wayne Rainey rode his Yamaha YZR500, 1992 World Champion, for the first time since the accident that ended his career in 1993. The American, riding a machine adapted to his handicap, had covered the climb in the company of Kenny Roberts, Kevin Schwantz and Mick Doohan.

A special tribute will of course be paid to the man who established a bridge between the worlds of 2 and 4 wheels, John Surtees, the only rider to have been crowned World Champion in Motorcycle and Formula 1.

Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, 11th Duke of Richmond: “I am absolutely delighted that the festival of speed is hosting its biggest MotoGP celebration this year. I thank Dorna Sports, the teams and the drivers for including us in their busy schedule, it means a lot to everyone at Goodwood and to all our fans who will be there to celebrate with us.”
