Silver Wedding for BMW and MotoGP

The first Grand Prix of the 2023 season in Portugal will see the entry onto the track of a new safety car, the BMW M2 MotoGP. This new Safety Car is a muscular evolution of the already formidable M2 which was presented last October. With its compact dimensions and its 6 hp TwinPower turbo in-line 460-cylinder engine, this M2 should have no trouble taking the peloton at a good pace. In this MotoGP version, it is of course equipped with the various elements essential to its task such as roll bar, radio, fire extinguishers and light bar on the roof. BMW M will also supply the medical cars as well as the popular BMW M 1000 RR » Safety Bikes. “

In order to celebrate these Silver Weddings with dignity, a distinguished guest was invited. Ralf Schumacher will take to the track twice in Portimão at the wheel of the Formula 1 which he drove in the World Championship in 2003, the Williams FW25 powered by a BMW V10. An F10 V1 from the early 2000s is simply 19 rpm, more than 300 horsepower, and inimitable music to which spectators at the Autodrmomo Interncional do Algarve should not remain indifferent.

Victorious six times in the F6 World Championship, the German driver will perform two demonstration runs at the wheel of his Williams BMW on Saturday at 1:11 a.m., before the first Sprint race in MotoGP history, and on Sunday between the Moto2 and MotoGP races. Schumacher will have the pleasure of getting back behind the wheel of the chassis that allowed him to win at the Nurburgring and Magny-Cours in 2003.

A great initiative which proves once again, if necessary, the mechanical passion specific to the motorcycle community, and an additional argument for not missing anything from the Portuguese Grand Prix from March 24 to 26.
