Azores: Bouffier is content with 4th place

Bryan Bouffier had a difficult ordeal for his first Rally of the Azores. The pilot Peugeot had to deal with poor visibility and its opening position on the road in the first and last stages. The Frenchman was able to avoid mistakes to grab fourth place after the retirement of Bruno Magalhaes (Peugeot).

The Frenchman is not disappointed with his result given the racing conditions. “The exercise was delicate”, admits the Peugeot driver. “It is difficult to maintain concentration when, in the stated desire to be at the finish, we do not give our all. I opened the road again, which did not make my task easier. There was fog, rain with, every second, the risk of being surprised. I realized it: on this type of terrain, when the dirt roads are very slippery and I discover a rally, I have room for improvement due to my limited experience. This is why I cannot complain about my result. »

Bryan Bouffier retains his second place and remains close to the new leader, Juho Hänninen, who has just celebrated his third success in the Azores. “My delay on the leader is only four points”, underlines the Frenchman. “The upcoming rounds will take place on terrains that I master, like Barum and Sanremo, or on tarmac special stages which, in Hungary, will be new for everyone. There is not the slightest doubt: my Peugeot 207 S2000 will allow me to fight for the title until the end. »
