Al-Attiyah leads the Cyprus Rally

Nasser Al-Attiyah (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) dominated the first stage of the Rally from Cyprus. The Qatari won 5 of the 6 special stages of the day and has a lead of more than 25 seconds over Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 R5).

The Russian is in a good position to regain the lead of the championship against Chris Ingram (Skoda Fabia R5) who is at the foot of the provisional podium, 24 seconds behind Simos Galatariotis (Skoda Fabia R5) who won last year but which is almost 2 minutes behind the leaders.

Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Fiesta R5) is in 6th place, 14 seconds behind Lukasz Habaj (Skoda Fabia R5).
