Alexey Lukyanuk without rival in Rome

After a more than hectic first loop at the Rally di Roma Capitale, opening of the European Rally Championship ERC, with the retirements of Andrea Crugnola (Citroën C3 R5) and Adrien fourmaux (Ford Fiesta R5 MKII) and a delay in the rest of the event, the second pass of the afternoon confirmed Alexey Lukyanuk in its leadership position.

The Russian driver of the Citroën C3 R5 operated by Saintéloc Racing completed the Grand Slam this Saturday by winning the six special stages on the program, to count this evening 34″1 ahead of Giandomenico Basso (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5), winner in 2019, but powerless in the face of the fury coming from the East.

Increasingly confident on asphalt, a surface he is really discovering this weekend, Oliver Solberg (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) put in an excellent performance, finishing in 3rd place this evening, 47″1 behind the leader. The Swede is ahead of Simone Tempestini (Skoda Fabia R5) and Fabian Kreim (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5), moved up one place at the end of SS6 after the poor performance of Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 R5).

But this trio remains separated by only 5″1, which should suggest an interesting fight for the second stage tomorrow on the Italian roads. Pierre-Louis Loubet (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC) remains in the lead of Rally Stars ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC), less than 3″ behind Corsica.
