Andreas Mikkelsen takes charge in Hungary

Following on from a super-special show last night, dominated by Miko Marczyk, the real first stage of the Rally of Hungary, counting for theERC 2020, started this Saturday, and saw the Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo), take the advantage after four SS contested today.

L’ex-pilote Volkswagen et Hyundai a signé trois scratchs entre les ES3 et ES5 pour s’offrir un avantage de 5″1 sur Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 R5), leader du classement général de l’ERC.

The provisional podium is currently completed by Craig Breen (Hyundai i20 R5), the Irishman being relegated to 15″ behind Mikkelsen. Oliver Solberg (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) follows in 4th position at already 34″3, when Grégoire Munster (Hyundai i20 R5) completes the top 5 at 40″1.

A delicate morning for Yoann Bonato, since the double French champion, who had already lost 20″ last night in a disagreement with the marshals, spun and had to count on the help of the spectators to be able to restart in SS3, before a puncture in SS5.

The driver of the Citroën C3 R5 – CHL Sport Auto is in 22nd place, 3'06" behind Mikkelsen. A second loop of four stages will be on the afternoon menu in Hungary.
