Baumschlager will enter 2 Volkswagen Polo GTI R5s

Baumschlager Rally & Racing has acquired two examples of the new Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 which made its competitive debut at the Rally of Spain last October in the hands of Eric Camilli and Petter Solberg. The Hannover-based team will enter its two new mounts in ERC.

It is no coincidence that the German structure preferred the VW rather than the Skoda Fabia (with which it operated until now), the Citroën C3, the Hyundai i20, the Ford Fiesta or even the Peugeot 208 since owner Raimund Baumschlager participated in the development of the Wolfsburg mount.

“We have a few people interested who could even enter a 3rd car, commented Raimund Baumschlager who has 14 titles in the Austrian Rally Championship. We are really pleased that Volkswagen is offering a rally car to private individuals. We also had to acquire all the parts in order to perform well on dirt or asphalt. I have complete confidence in Volkswagen. »
