Campana wants to shine at Sanremo

Current fourth of the Suzuki Rally Cup with two victories and one retirement in three races, Pierre Campana is one of the young people on the rise. Noticed at the 2008 Tour de Corse on a Clio Renault Sport R3, the driver managed by Ange Pasquali is delighted to participate in the Sanremo Rally (September 24-26): “I have always dreamed of participating in this event. It was not easy to set up the operation, but we knocked on a lot of doors and we were finally rewarded for our efforts! »

The young Corsican will have a Clio R3 Maxi prepared by the Italian team Munaretto: “It will even be my first rally outside France, but I have a little experience of the Clio R3 which will be useful to me. It is a powerful and easy to drive car. The opposition will be very strong: in addition to the IRC championship, the Italian and European Clio Trophies are at the start. It won't be easy! My lack of experience will be a handicap, especially since the autumn racing conditions at Sanremo are very specific. But if you want to be a rally driver, you have to adapt: I'm ready for it. »

Without a specific objective as to the result, Campana ultimately has only one objective: to get noticed. “I have to test my car at the beginning of September, after which I will have a better idea of my abilities. Whatever happens, I want to believe that I will be able to join the fight at the front among the Clios. If we fight with the top crews in our Clio R3 class, it will be a great result. »
