Nasser Al-Attiyah (Ford Fiesta R5) took the lead Rally from the Acropolis at the end of the 6th special which concluded the first stage. The 2014 champion of WRC 2 took advantage of the retirement of Nikolay Gryazin who saw his Skoda Fabia R5 go up in smoke after a fire broke out. The crew was fortunately unhurt.

Victory is still far from over since Nasser Al-Attiyah only has an 8s lead over Bruno Magalhaes (Skoda). Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Ford) completes the provisional podium, running half a minute behind the leader. The Russian lost ground being slowed down by two punctures.
Local driver Socratis Tsolakidis (Skoda) and Turk Murat Bostanci (Ford) complete the top five, separated by a minute.
Zelindo Melegari (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) leads theERC 2 while evolving on the outskirts of the top ten. The Italian is ahead of ERC 2 leader Bugra Banaz (Ford Fiesta R3).
