ERC – Alexey Lukyanuk towards a full program

Winner of Colin McRae ERC Last year's Flat Out Trophy Driver of the Year, Alexey Lukyanuk intends to return to ERC awards in 2018.

The 37-year-old Russian driver is aiming for a full-time commitment to the European Rally Championship season, still at the wheel of an H-Racing Ford Fiesta R5. His participation is already confirmed for the first rally in the Azores (March 22-24).

Leader of the event last year, Lukyanuk had lost all hope of victory after going off the road, and intends to take his revenge this year. “When we started there in 2016, we got used to it quite quickly and showed good speed on the stages, remembers the Russian.

They are narrow, quite technical, with good grip, and despite the slippery surface and gravel, I like it. I believe our previous experience will help us. »

Lukyanuk also specifies that he has started a collaboration with a new engineer, with extensive experience in rallying at world level. Progress already seems to be there given the pre-season tests carried out before the Azores.
