ERC – Kajetanowicz faces Al Rajhi on Cyprus Rally

Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Fiesta R5) was not idle in the first stage of the Rally from Cyprus. After losing more than half a minute in the opening super special due to an error, the Pole suffered steering problems and was handed a ten-second penalty for clocking in late. But the Lotos Rally Team driver continued his successes in the second pass to take the lead of the event with a lead of less than four seconds over Yazeed Al Rajhi (Fiesta RRC) who will still have his say in the second day .

Abdulaziz Al Kuwari (Fiesta) now completes the provisional podium half a minute from the lead of the race with the same gap on the Citroën DS3 RRC of Khalid Al Qassimi. Bruno Magalhaes (Peugeot 208 T16 R5) completes the top five ahead Craig Breen (208 T16 R5) who had a trying day. The Irishman received a 1'20 penalty for clocking in early and lost further time due to engine temperature and steering problems. Robert Consani (Peugeot 207 S2000) and Nasser Al-Attiyah (Fiesta RRC) retired with a mechanical problem.

Christos Demosthenous (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) occupies eighth place and remains at the top of the Production category. Zoltan Bessenyey (Honda Civic Type R) remains in the lead of the 2WD despite a rollover in Lythrodontas (SS7).
