ERC – Kevin Abbring takes on the Acropolis

On the occasion of rally of the Acropolis, which will be contested on the brittle terrains of Greece from next Friday, Kevin Abbring will debut the Peugeot 208 T16 meeting R5 regulations in ERC next to Craig Breen, the other Peugeot driver. The Dutch and the Irish already seem to be on the same wavelength. “We did some testing with Craig and we worked well together. Abbring explains. I appreciate him as a pilot and as a friend. I haven't driven the car on asphalt, but we will do a test before the rally and every meter will be welcome, because the speed difference compared to the R2 is really huge. I can adapt to a new car quite easily, but the speed difference in adapting the grades is the hardest thing. The good thing is that the asphalt on the first day's stages is new for everyone. As we saw before, when I was in the JWRC in Ireland and Poland and the rally was new, I set the best times on almost every stage. Okay, it will be different because the R5 is new to me. The rally will get tough when arriving on dirt with big stones. You will have to survive, but the cars will be strong. »

Abbring, however, believes that it will be difficult for him to keep pace with the best, having not driven a four-wheel drive for almost a year. “ I just want to show the potential of the car during the rally. It's difficult to say where we will stand against the others and in particular against Bryan Bouffier. »
