ERC – First victory for the Peugeot 208 T16 R5

With Craig Breen at the wheel, Peugeot Sport's new weapon scores its first rally success at the Acropolis, round 3 of the ERC. Bouffier finished 2nd.

ERC – First victory for the Peugeot 208 T16 R5

The 208 T16 R5 follows in the footsteps of its predecessors 205 T16 and 206 WRC. Almost 30 years after the famous Group B, the 208 triumphs in Greece at the Acropolis on one of the most demanding rallies in the world.ERC 2014. Craig Breen perfectly took over from Kevin Abbring, forced to abandon yesterday with the other Lioness (overheating), and mastered this second stage to come out on top. Author of two scratches today, the Irishman controlled the Citroën DS3 RRC of an offensive Bryan Bouffier who until the end kept the pressure on the 208. The Frenchman finished 8″1 behind Breen, after notably having signed two scratches this Sunday. “It’s a beautiful place. It wasn't my goal but I made mistakes, that's how it is. » declares the former French Rally champion upon the arrival of rally.

explains winner Craig Breen. Third place went to the Ford Fiesta R5 of Kajetan Kajetanowicz, who finished 42″1 from the lead in the race. The Frenchman Jean-Michel Raoux (Peugeot 207 S2000) took the final 8th place and Robert Consani the 10th, among the French. Tibor Erdi won the Production category at the wheel of his Mitsubishi Lancer and Evgeny Sukhovenko won in two-wheel drive with his Renault Clio R3.
