ERC – Sarrazin over the moon with his Tour de Corse victory

Malgré son programme Toyota en WEC with whom he will compete in the 6 Hours of Bahrain next weekend, Stéphane Sarrazin was able to participate in the Tour de Corse which he won against Bryan Bouffier, the winner of last year's edition. After easily winning the Rally of the Cévennes with a Fiesta RS WRC, the driver supported in particular by 8Star Motorsports was the fastest with an RRC version, notably taking several scratches in the second stage. “Two weeks after the Critérium des Cévennes, which has particular value in my eyes, we achieved victory in one of the most legendary events in rallying. We really had to attack to win. The first day was positive but we had to find a good compromise between risk-taking and pure performance. There were many pitfalls, we were able to avoid them while regaining our bearings in Corsica,” commented the winner.

This performance is all the more impressive as Stéphane Sarrazin is focused on his circuit program. But its versatility allows it to easily get its bearings even if its mount is new. “We knew that everything would be decided in the second stage. On Saturday morning we gave it our all and pushed really hard. We had a great car thanks to the work of First Motorsport and Jacques-Julien (Renucci, the co-driver) was perfect in his notes. I was confident, I was able to attack and I had a lot of fun with a lot at stake at the end. These two events marked my return to rallying, I had actually driven very little with this car in testing, and never in competition before the Cévennes. Two victories for this mini-program of two rallies that we had set up with 8StarMotorsports and Oreca-Store.com, I couldn't hope for better! »
