Freddy Loix heads to victory

The games seem made for Freddy Loix at Rally from Ypres. The six-time winner of the Belgian event still has a lead of 1:35:3 over Bryan Bouffier. “I am counting the stages to complete before the finish, it is very difficult to manage the rally”, comments the Belgian.

The battle for third place turned to the advantage of Hans Weijs (Skoda), who is on course to reach the podium after Bernd Casier (Skoda) stopped on the course. “We just want to cross the finish line”, admits the Dutchman, who is ahead of Michal Solowow (Ford).

Guy Wilks (Peugeot ) was on the attack to try to take fifth place from Karl Kruuda (Skoda). But the Briton suffered a puncture on his 207 S2000. He nevertheless retained sixth place, 37 seconds behind the Skoda driver.

The drivers left for the last service of the Ypres Rally, before getting back behind the wheel for the last two special stages of the event. The start of SS17 will be at 21:12 p.m.
