Gardemeister wants to aim for the podium

Toni Gardemeister, after taking part in the 2010 Monte-Carlo at the wheel of an Abarth Grande Punto S2000, will be back this year for the opening event of the IRC. The former pilot of WRC is one of the lucky ones selected on the entry list but this time will be armed with a Peugeot 207 S2000.

“This car is more competitive for Monte-Carlo,” he rejoices. “We can't do a huge amount of preparation work like the big teams, but we are organizing a day of testing before the start and we will use this opportunity to the fullest,” explains the Finn.

Even if he will find strong competitors on his way, such as Stéphane Sarrazin, Nicolas Vouilloz, Bryan Bouffier, Petter Solberg, François Delecour or Juho Hänninen, Toni Gardemeister wants to be ambitious and is aiming for a podium. “It will be difficult but I will do my best,” he said.
