Guy Wilks looks back on his road trip

The Briton will no longer be able to regain the lead of the event, even if six special stages remain to be contested. Its exit from the road in the Barchetta-Laporta special resulted in a retirement, the 207 S2000 being stuck in a ditch.

« I tried to make up for lost time and braked too late », explains Guy Wilks. “ To be honest, I wasn't particularly comfortable at the start of the stage. My part time in the other special was worse than that of (Pierre) Campana »

Guy Wilks thus tried to increase his pace, but unfortunately for him, his risk-taking was too great. “ I knew it wasn't working and I made sure to reverse the trend. But I attacked too much in a very fast descent. We went slightly off the road but it was enough to get us stuck in a ditch. I tried to take back more time than I should have »
