Like the WRC, the European Rally Championship (ERC) has revealed its schedule for next season. Still eight events are taking place throughout Europe, in 8 different countries. No more doubles like in 2021, where Portugal and Spain hosted the competition twice. For the first time in the current ERC format, the championship heads to northern Sweden on July 7-8 for the Rally royal of Scandinavia.
Keen rally fans may recognize some of the stages, although they are green rather than white at this time of year. The rally will take place in the Värmland region of Sweden, which hosted the WRC during the traditional February period until 2020.
Another notable event is the return of the Hungarian Rally, after a year of absence, which will host the last round of the season on October 7 and 8. The asphalt event will take place in the Zemplén mountain region in the northeast of the country.
In addition to these two changes, the other events present in 2022 retain their place for 2023, with the Serras de Fafe Rally (Portugal), the Canary Islands Rally (Spain), the Poland Rally, the Latvia Rally, the Rome Rally (Italy) and the Barum Rallye (Czech Republic).
