IRC – Andreas Mikkelsen master in Romania

Andreas Mikkelsen will not have played the suspense at the Sibiu Rally contested on his favorite surface. The reigning champion won with a lead of more than five minutes over the Ford Fiesta S2000 of Patrik Flodin who took advantage of the retirement of Sepp Wiegand which occurred two stages from the finish when the German encountered a problem 'shock absorber. “This weekend was long (200km timed)”, recognizes the winner who increases his lead in the Championship a little more. “With such a gap, I just had to bring the car back to the finish. We've had a lot of second places and it's good to get back on the top step of the podium. This is an important result for the whole team. »

Despite his numerous mechanical problems, François Delecour completes the podium with his Peugeot 207 S2000 which suffered from a shock absorber problem at the start of the day. The Frenchman admitted that he would like to compete in other rounds of the IRC Championship in the near future. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X of Vitaliy Pushkar and Edwin Keleti complete the top five while Robert Consani imposes his Renault Clio 3 in the two-wheel drive category after a good duel against Harry Hunt (Citroën DS3 R3T) who received a 20-second penalty putting an end to his hopes of victory while he was leading the category.
