Juho Hänninen wins the Azores Rally

The battle was long, but Juho Hänninen proved that he deserved his title of reigning Champion of the discipline. The Finn resisted the attacks of Andreas Mikkelsen, who had taken the advantage for a moment, to win the Rally of the Azores, after having distanced the Norwegian in a single special. The winner wins with a lead of 42??3. “We had a splendid weekend, it’s magnificent for Skoda and it’s a very nice victory”, comments Juho Hänninen.

Jan Kopecky offers the hat-trick to Skoda, but he regrets the abandonment of Bruno Magalhaes (Peugeot ) with whom he fought a great battle for a place on the podium. “It’s a shame that Bruno retired (failed transmission) because it was a good fight”, comments the Czech. “I would like to invite everyone to Zlin (August 26 to 28), it will be our home event. »

Bryan Bouffier had a difficult rally. The Peugeot driver was discovering the Portuguese special stages and had to perfect his learning with very poor visibility. Nevertheless, the Frenchman is satisfied with his fourth place. ?It?s not too bad. It was my first time here, but the car performed well. »
