Kopecky challenges Meeke at Sanremo

The penultimate round of the season, Rally Sanremo competes this week in Italy. Winner of the last two rounds in the Czech Republic and Spain, Skoda driver Jan Kopecky returned to a unit of Kris Meeke in the Drivers' championship. While the Mlada Boleslav firm was not expected to participate at the end of the season, it is on the verge of fighting for the title with two events remaining in the IRC championship.

Kopecky has taken four points from Meeke in two rallies and does not intend to stop there. “ We can't wait to be in Sanremo; I have the impression that the IRC is going to be tight until the end », indicated the Czech. On an asphalt track, many competitors will be able to claim victory. The Belgian François Duval will thus make his return at the wheel of an Abarth Grande Punto after a last appearance at Ypres in June which saw him go off the road at the first turn.

The armada Peugeot will also be present with Freddy Loix and Nicolas Vouilloz, currently third and fifth in the general classification. Kopecky?s teammate, Juho Hanninen (Skoda), will also be there, as will Luca Rossetti who will support François Duval at Abarth. Finally, Guy Wilks will be at the wheel of a Proton Satria S2000.
