Kris Meeke outsider in Argentina

Kris Meeke (Peugeot 207 S2000), who made a mistake during the Rally Monte-Carlo relaunched itself two weeks ago in Brazil by winning the Curitiba event, masterfully, without much competition. He will again be the favorite in Argentina but, this time, he will not have the advantage of being able to compete in the special stages with his eyes closed.

« In Brazil, unlike my rivals, I had the advantage of field experience », confirms Kris Meeke. “ In Argentina, it's the opposite: several of my opponents have already raced there while I was content to take part in the reconnaissance only once. » And again, before those of 2010, his last recognitions date back to 2005, an eternity.

Although he has confidence in his driving, the Northern Irishman knows that he will have to be attentive on a tricky and selective route. “ Argentine dirt roads have a much harder, more brittle surface, with numerous cuts likely to damage the wheels or suspensions, and numerous river crossings. »

Kris Meeke will have the opportunity to show his skills on the roads of Argentina, starting this Friday, with a first special at 17 p.m. (21 p.m. French time).
