The ERC reviews its regulations

The organizers of theERC continue to work to lower competition costs. At its last meeting of 2020, the FIA World Motor Sport Council approved the proposal of its commission Rally aiming to reduce the total distance traveled from 210 to 180 kilometers from next year.

In Rally2, drivers will be limited to 16 tires during events taking place on asphalt and dirt, while those in Rally3 will have 16 on asphalt and 12 on dirt. For the Rally4 and Rally5 categories, competitors will not be able to go beyond 12 tires this evening on asphalt or gravel.

Unchanged in 2021, the eligibility of cars in the ERC2 category will change in 2022. This season again, drivers entered in Group N, RGT and Rally2 Kit will be able to score points before the situation changes the following campaign.

From 2022, only cars in the Rally3 category, scheduled to debut in 2021, will be able to score championship points. Enough to surely push the Group N, RGT and Rally2 Kit towards the exit.
