Opel presented its new rally car which replaces the Adam Cup. This competition Corsa will have the particularity of being electric.

The new rally Opel is electric

It will be Opel which takes the first step. The Over-the-Rhine manufacturer presented its Corsa-e rally which will be used for the ADAC Opel e-Rally Cup, succeeding the Adam Cup. This cup will be launched next year. This lithium-ion battery technology will allow it to offer young drivers a power of 136hp and a torque of 260Nm on the front wheels.

 

 

“With the ADAC Opel e-Rally Cup, we are bringing electric power to a major championship for the first time, focusing it on young drivers, underlines Hermann Tomczyk, president of ADAC Sport. Innovative design and collaboration with Groupe PSA offers us new possibilities. I am sure that this concept will go beyond the borders of Germany. »

 

 

The best drivers in the ADAC Opel e-Rally Cup will be able to progress to the Junior category of theERC with the new Opel Corsa R2, thermal this one. The German brand specified that the price of customer cars would be well below €50 including taxes.
