The very popular 2011 Tour de Corsica

Pilots competing in the Rally Monte-Carlo, many were there for a one-shot and not to compete in the IRC season. Even Bryan Bouffier, who Peugeot will ultimately send the IRC title to other events, is part of this list, in which we find Nicolas Vouilloz, Petter Solberg, Stéphane Sarrazin and many others.

But today, many drivers are interested in competing in the Tour de Corse (May 13-15), the third event of the 2011 IRC. “With Skoda France, we would like to be able to take part in another rally, the Tour of Corsica", Nicolas Vouilloz, 2008 IRC champion, declared on RMC.

A wish shared by François Delecour, invigorated by his performance last weekend. “I would like to be at the Tour de Corse because I love Corsica, I love the special stages and I would like to do it for Doumé (Savignoni), my co-driver. I feel deeply attached to this land,” he told us after the Monaco event.

As for Petter Solberg, who came to compete in Monte-Carlo at the request of Peugeot, he enjoyed the experience of driving an official car again and would like to find himself in Corsica. “It was great to come here just to drive, to have fun while only thinking about driving and not about money,” he revealed, quoted by autosport.com. I would like to do more but we have to see. At least, if I do Corsica, I will have a very good idea of the settings I will need in the dry. »

If it is no longer on the IRC calendar, the Tour de Corse could show a strong field. But to attend it, you will have to wait almost four months, the Monte-Carlo Rally being placed well ahead of the IRC season.
