Mikkelsen: “A very good feeling”

Andreas Mikkelsen already competed in the Ypres Rally last year in a Fiesta M-Sport S2000. Armed this season with a Skoda Fabia S2000, the Norwegian hopes to shine in the Belgian round of the IRC Championship.

Andreas Mikkelsen celebrated his 22nd birthday yesterday, but he already has a lot of experience in Rally d?Ypres puisqu?il l?a disputé la saison passée avec M-Sport. Étant passé cette année chez Skoda, le Norvégien espère signer ce week-end un bon résultat pour améliorer sa septième position au Championnat.

“The Ypres Rally will be very difficult, especially against local drivers such as Freddy Loix and Thierry Neuville who know the roads very well”, comments the Skoda driver. “But we also have the opportunity to achieve a very good result. Our pace increases more and more with the Fabia S2000 and we are getting closer to the fastest in the discipline. »

With 80% of the course remaining the same as last year, Andreas Mikkelsen knows he has a chance to play. “With good recognition and good grades, we can really fight for the best places”, adds the Norwegian. “We've been a bit unlucky this season, but I have a very good feeling about Ypres. We made good progress in Corsica (6th) and we took a step forward in Ukraine (4th). »

The first stage of the Ypres Rally begins tomorrow with six stages, the first starting at 16:49 p.m.
