Mikko Hirvonen leader “surprised”

Leader after nearly 75 timed kilometers, Mikko Hirvonen admits to being surprised to be so well placed for the competition debut of the Ford Fiesta Super 2000: “I was satisfied with my choice of tires. I didn't expect to be in the lead from the start of the race. The car is brand new and I'm still getting used to it. I just made a small mistake in the second stage. I went off the line but didn't lose more than half a second. »

Sébastien Ogier finishes the loop 4??5 behind his rival: “You never know which tires to choose! We must do the best we can with the information we can gather. »

Snowfall is forecast in the afternoon. The time has now come for the difficult choice of tires.
