Pierre Campana: “A dream”

The plateau of Renault Clio R3 will be equipped for the first round of the Clio European Trophy, which will be contested during the Rally Monte-Carlo, from January 19 to 23. Fifteen Clio R3s will be there, including Kris Princen, winner of the Clio R3 West European Trophy in 2009 (*), Robert Kubica, Renault driver F1, Mathieu Arzeno, Espoir Echappement 2009, Eric Mauffrey, Thomas Barral and Pierre Campana. The latter, due to the quality of the field, knows that the task will be difficult but remains very motivated three days before the start of the event, already happy to be able to take part.

“Pparticipating in the Monte-Carlo Rally is like a dream for me, comments the 24-year-old Corsican. More than a rally, it?s a legend. I have to thank everyone who allowed me to be there. I am determined to do my best to ensure the best possible outcome. »

The rally will begin Tuesday evening with an 8 km prologue, not counting in the general classification but allowing the starting order of the specials on Wednesday morning to be determined. In total, fifteen special stages are on the program for a total of 405 km. Note that Eurosport is setting up unprecedented television coverage with the broadcast of all the specials live.

* The Trophy changed its name in the off-season due to the appearance of the Barum Rally event (Czech Republic). This season, the European Trophy has six events: Monte-Carlo (Monaco, 19-23/01), 1000 Miglia (Italy, 22-24/04), Ypres (Belgium, 24-26/06), Barum (Rep Czech, 26-29/08), Valais (Switzerland, 28-31/10), Var (France, 26-28/11).
