Wilks leaves the field open to Mikkelsen

Guy Wilks (Peugeot ) had just handed over control of the Rally from Scotland to Andreas Mikkelsen (Skoda) before the start of the last special of the morning. But the Briton found himself stuck in a ditch after spinning on a track soaked by the incessant rain. “We had a hot time, the difficult conditions are changing every moment”, explains the leader of the event. “I'm really sorry for Guy because he was doing a very good job. »

Thierry Neuville (Peugeot) now finds itself in second position halfway through the stage. The Belgian is already almost 30 seconds behind the Norwegian and remains under threat from Bryan Bouffier (Peugeot), who is only 5??1 behind the first 207 S2000. “It's not too bad, we had a set-up that wasn't firm enough for the last very muddy and very slippery special”, comments the Belgian.

PG Andersson has been on an impressive pace since the start of the event since he occupies fourth place with his Proton Satria Neo S2000 ahead of Juho Hänninen. The two drivers are only separated by 3?7 but Bryan Bouffier is less than ten seconds behind the Finn.

The crews will leave this afternoon to compete in the second passage of the special stages on the day's program, which will include a total of 47,38km timed.
