WRC/ERC – Stéphane Lefebvre leads on all fronts

On a rally of Barum in the Czech Republic which was initially not on his program, Stéphane Lefebvre had a double blow. In addition to a third success this season in Junior ERC, the Frenchman consolidates his position as leader of the championship and now leads on both European and global fronts. Enough to dream of a formidable double.

“It wasn't an entirely clear weekend, especially with a puncture and a differential problem, explains the PH Sport driver. But we were able to perform well by discovering these very specific roads, we were able to count on an extremely efficient team and thus won an important victory for the FIA ERC Junior championship. Thanks to the points acquired as part of the Peugeot Rally Academy, this victory and the Tour de Corse which we will compete with Peugeot Sport, we can now look forward to winning two international titles in 2014 and I find that fabulous. If someone had told me this a few years ago, I certainly wouldn't have believed it! » If Lefebvre does not take part in the Rallye du Valais (October 23-25), the title could be decided in Corsica at the beginning of November, the Frenchman currently having a margin of 24 points over the Czech Jan Cerny in the championship.

Before that, the next major event for the leader of the Junior championships will be the Rallye de France-Alsace in Junior WRC from October 3 to 5, where he could also take a decisive step towards the world crown and join Sébastien on the list of winners Loeb et Sébastien Ogier.
