Intended to be sold worldwide, the replacement for the current Skoda Fabia Rally2 must have proven itself on all surfaces and in all circumstances. After the asphalt and dirt, the staff led by Jan Krasula therefore moved north of the Arctic Circle to Finland to confront their car with a very hostile icy environment.

With a thermometer dropping below -14 C° and on perfectly snowy and icy roads, the new generation Fabia was put to the test for 5 days. Kris Meeke, Andreas Mikkelsen and Emil Lindholm took turns in the cockpit.

« The aim was to test the reliability and performance of the chassis and engine parts in these difficult winter conditions., explains the technician from Mladá Boleslav. Additionally, we need to ensure that the crew finds an acceptable level of comfort when it is freezing outside. For example, the windshield must not fog up and the temperature on board must not drop below a certain degree. »

« I already had a very good feeling with the future Fabia on tarmac and dirt., concluded Andreas Mikkelsen. After these tests, I can confirm that I feel very, very good in the car on the snow. » The new Fabia should make its appearance in the specials this summer.
