A crash in the first special of the morning (SS11) explains the retirement of Giandomenico Basso (Abarth Grande Punto S2000), broken suspension in SS12 of Rally of the Azores. The Italian was in 6th place. At the end of SS12, Kris Meeke is more than ever in the lead, but Jan Kopecky is in 2nd position, 8″ ahead of Nicolas Vouilloz.
