Victorious last January in his first Dakar at the wheel of the VW Race Touareg, Nasser Al-Attiyah continues his momentum. Entering the Qatar Rally at the controls of his new Ford Fiesta S2000, he won his 9th consecutive victory in his national event as a curtain-raiser to the FIA Middle East Rally Championship. After experiencing a broken transmission shaft at the start of the rally, the Qatari made up for his delay and finally took the advantage. “I always believed we could win and I thank my team for being able to fix my car. Winning in Qatar is always a special emotion for me. Just like starting the championship with a victory,” commented Al-Attiyah. He won ahead of Mubarak Al-Hajri (Subaru Impreza) and Abdullah Al-Qassimi (Ford Fiesta S2000).
