Blaney on pole for the first round of the playoffs

Winner of the last round of the regular season at Daytona, Ryan Blaney (Team Penske) inherited pole position for the first round of the Cup Series playoffs.

On the grid, the native of Hartford Township (Ohio) will be ahead of Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) and Kurt Busch (Chip Ganassi Racing). Hendrick Motorsports drivers Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman round out the Top 5.

Leader at the end of the regular season, Kyle Larson (Hendrick Motorsports) will start 6th this Sunday at Darlington.

The race will consist of 367 laps for a total of 500 miles (804,50 km). The start will be given on Sunday September 5 at 18:00 p.m. local time.

First segment: 115 laps / 157,09 miles
Second segment: 115 laps / 157,09 miles
Final: 137 laps / 187,142 miles
