Heading east for the final of the Coupe de France de la Montagne

Most of the amateur pilots who, throughout the year, face the routes of regional hill climbs, have the objective of qualifying for what is the event awaited by all mountain dwellers, the Final of the French Mountain Cup... Every year, from August of the previous year to August of the current year, fans of the discipline compete in the hope of winning their ticket to the final.

Each league qualifies a quota of drivers, and for this 2023 edition there will ultimately be 110 to come and compete in the Bas-Rhin, over the 3000 meters of the Course de Côte de Steige. For the best of them, the objective will be to succeed Marc Pernot and Paul Reutter who, in 2022, won respectively in the Sport and Production series. There will be many contenders for victory, the debates look promising...

Obviously, the different actors present in this Final will have a thought for Gérard Légiot who recently left us. Involved for many years in motorsport, he was President of the Coupe de France Montagne Commission, Secretary General and Delegate of the Bourgogne Franche-Comté League as well as Member of the National Road Sports Directory and formerly of the Steering Committee of the FFSA. Gérard Légiot worked throughout his life for motorsport.
