Laurent Carbonaro (Ford Focus WRC) won the first round of the French gravel rally championship by winning on Sunday at Terre des Causses. Leader since the end of SS 2, the Champagne driver is ahead of Paul Chieusse (Peugeot 307 WRC) of 1'03" and Emmanuel Gascou (Peugeot 207 S2000) of 1'05". The gaps remain provisional because Carbonaro is subject to a 1′ penalty, but he would remain in the lead if the sanction was confirmed. 4th overall, Hervé Guignard (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo.9) wins Group N.
Only three stages were contested today, the last had to be canceled following a minor accident by a competitor.
