Indeed, over the 10,79 km of the only special stage of this first stage, the two best times were achieved by? the Mini JCW WRC by Pierre Campana and the Peugeot 206 WRC by Jean-Marie Cuoq.
More surprising are the following places. While Snobeck (victim of a spin) and Brunson, uncomfortable on the water flows following a storm, lost very large handfuls of seconds, ??Manu Guigou?? achieved the third time, preceding the ??revenant?? by a tenth? Jérémi Ancian (Clio R3). Fifth overall, Mathieu Arzeno was the best placed DS3 R3, even ahead of the Peugeot 307 WRC from Mourgues.
