This afternoon, shortly before setting off on the starting podium in front of the Odysseum in Montpellier, Denis Giraudet, who co-drives Jean-François Mourgues here, told us: “given the conditions, I think Campana and Cuoq will be the most likely to stand out this evening. » Well, friend Giraudet was not mistaken! Indeed, over the 10,79 km of the only special stage of this first stage, the two best times were achieved by? the Mini JCW WRC by Pierre Campana and the Peugeot 206 WRC by Jean-Marie Cuoq.

More surprising are the following places. While Snobeck (victim of a spin) and Brunson, uncomfortable on the water flows following a storm, lost very large handfuls of seconds, ??Manu Guigou?? achieved the third time, preceding the ??revenant?? by a tenth? Jérémi Ancian (Clio R3). Fifth overall, Mathieu Arzeno was the best placed DS3 R3, even ahead of the Peugeot 307 WRC from Mourgues.

Tomorrow, if the weather conditions remain the same? that is to say execrable?, the surprises will continue?
