La Lola-Aston Martin #009 finished second in the 8 Hours of Le Castellet last weekend. Satisfaction is essential among the English, as Georges Howard-Chappell confirms:
“I am very happy with this result, declares the Team Director. It was obvious that we were not going to be able to beat the diesel factory teams on a regular basis; finishing second is therefore very satisfying. All the drivers and team members did a fantastic job; we had a few small problems during the race but everything ended well. »
As for Aston Martin President David Richards, he does not hesitate to proclaim loudly and clearly that his car is the best behind fuel oil.
“A new perfect performance from the entire team which confirms the Aston Martin as the best petrol car in the Le Mans Series. This result bodes well for 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. »
Next race: the second round of the American Le Mans Series at Long Beach this weekend. The opponents will be different, and certainly less tough.
