Juho Hänninen (Skoda) responded to Andreas Mikkelsen's attacks by completing the 21,94km of the Tronqueira special in 18, or 33 better than his Norwegian rival, who fell back to second place. “It was difficult, but we were able to attack in the middle of the special”, declares the leader.

Bruno Magalhaes (Peugeot ) withdrew after a transmission failure occurred on his 207 S2000 in the previous special. Bryan Bouffier (Peugeot) sets the third time at 10??7 from the scratch, ahead of Patrik Sandell (Skoda) by six tenths.

Juho Hänninen takes control of the Rally of the Azores with an 11??2 lead over Andreas Mikkelsen, who was unable to keep up with the Finn?s pace in this special. Jan Kopecky is still comfortably in third place. Bryan Bouffier and Patrik Sandell complete the top five after the retirement of Bruno Magalhaes.
