Scott Speed (Volkswagen Polo – Andretti Autosport) won the opening round of the Global Rallycross Challenge in Barbados. The American is ahead of Steve Arpin (Ford Fiesta – Royal Purple Racing) and Brian Deegan (Ford Fiesta – Rockstar Energy Drink). Nelson Piquet Jr took 4th place with his SH Racing Fiesta.
Ken Block (Hoonigan Racing Division) got off to a good start in this first round but the whimsical driver made a mistake with his Fiesta on a sidewalk, causing a nice figure of speech, fortunately without any damage for the American.
