Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen Polo) loses the lead in World RX at Montalegre after Q3. The PSRX Volkswagen Team Sweden resident dominated his race against his teammate Petter Solberg but, like Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Focus) the day before, the Swede forgot to perform his joker lap and received a penalty of 30s which makes him slip into 2nd position in the ranking against the Norwegian.

Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot 208) only achieved the 19th time after coming into contact with Kevin Eriksson (Ford Fiesta) during the same race. The nine-time champion of WRC dropped to 9th place, but the incident is under investigation. “Eriksson had a mechanical problem, Sébastien could not avoid it. We don’t worry”, indicated Susan Hansen, co-director of Team Peugeot-Hansen.

Mattias Ekström (Audi S1) conversely progressed to 3rd position after setting the 2nd fastest time in Q3. The EKS boss-driver precedes Timur Timerzyanov (Ford Fiesta) and Janis Baumanis (Ford Fiesta). Kevin Hansen is now the first Peugeot driver in 6th position, his brother Timmy in 8th place behind Reinis Nitiss (Audi S1). Kevin Eriksson is still in the top ten, ahead of Niclas Grönholm (Ford Fiesta) and Timo Scheider (Ford Fiesta).

DA Racing remains in difficulty with Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (Peugeot 208) 17th in the standings and his teammate Grégoire Demoustier 21st.
