The start of the World RX season postponed and relocated
The switch to electric is definitely not going as planned for the World RX. Already postponed several times, the start of the season has once again been postponed. This time, it was the FIA World Motor Sport Council, meeting this Wednesday, which confirmed the news indicating a delay in the delivery times of various components.
« Due to the switch to electric in the World Championship of rallycross of the FIA and the long delivery time of certain components for the assembly of the cars, the start of the Championship was postponed to the last weekend of July at the Nürburgring."
As a result, the 2022 World RX campaign will no longer begin in Höljes (Sweden) this weekend but at the Nürburgring on July 30 and 31. Note that the Barcelona round (October 29-30), now serving as the final, has been added to the calendar to maintain the number of events at 6.
