It was via a tweet that IMG, promoter of the World Championship of Rallycross, confirmed the arrival in 2020 of a World RX round at the Nürburgring, the return of Germany to the calendar after the disappearance of the Estering event in 2019. Hockenheim also hosted the World RX in 2017.
The round held in the Eifel will be organized from August 1 to 2, although the track layout has not been revealed. But the circuit complex F1 should offer several possibilities for the organizer, whether at the first turn or the section before the S Michael Schumacher.
The beginning of August was traditionally the location of the Canadian round of World RX in Trois-Rivières. It remains to be seen how the new 2020 calendar will be structured.
