The Silk Way Rally is now a Russian competition

Stop talking about the Silk Way Rally like an international rally but really a Russian rally ! While numerous sporting sanctions are being imposed against it, Russia, through its motorsport federation, has decided to take matters into its own hands.

« In connection with the ban on organizing international/local competitions on the territory of the Russian Federation, imposed by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM), the management of the Silk Way Rally decided to change the sporting status of the competition from international to Russian in 2022. This initiative received the support of the Russian Automobile Federation,” reads the statement issued by officials.

Note that despite this change in status and the current political context, foreign competitors will be “ admis » at the Silk Way Rally 2022, which will start on July 6 in Astrakhan and arrive in Moscow on July 16.
