The rounds of Faleyras, Touraine and Lessay canceled

The French Championship of rallycross will not occur in Faleyras (Gironde), Touraine and Lessay (Manche) in 2020. The three circuits no longer appear on the 2020 calendar. While the Normandy event, being held in August, did not have any guaranteed as to the travel of all the actors (commissioners, officials, competitors but also the public), the Faleyras and Touraine events were planned during the deconfinement period, before mid-July. Faced with the uncertainties surrounding the resumption of sporting activities, the organizers of these two races preferred to withdraw and aim for a return in 2021, just like Lessay. 

“The French Motor Sport Federation published Monday evening the new calendars for the 2020 season, explains Jean-Jacques Benezet, President of AFOR (French Association of Rallycross Organizers). Like other disciplines, we are not yet presented, as you can see. And this for one simple reason: initially, our calendar only included two events between September and the end of the season (Mayenne and Dreux), which does not allow us to hold a French Rallycross Championship.

 This is why we are still working with the FFSA and the four organizations still in the program (Mayenne, Dreux, Kerlabo and Essay), and as since the start of the health crisis, to find the best solutions for our partners, our competitors and our Rallycross audience in France. We will keep you informed as soon as possible but it is clear that our goal will not be to overload the calendar between September and mid-October in order to maintain the financial balance of the drivers and teams with whom we are in permanent contact. And that's why, three events seems to us to be the best option.

 I also take this opportunity to send all my support to all the organizations, all their volunteers and all Rallycross fans in each of these regions. »
