The first free practice session for the 1000 km of the Nürburgring saw the Pescarolo-Judd of the Pescarolo Sport team set the second time in 1:44.928 with Christophe Tinseau. The best time was achieved by the Lola B08/60 Coupé of Speedy Racing Team Sebah in 1:44.598. Third, theAston Martin 007, with Tomas Enge at the wheel, clocked 1:45.376.
