Kurt Busch (Penske Racing) will start on pole for the Michigan race. The driver of the No. 22 Dodge was three thousandths ahead of David Reutimann (Michael Waltrip Racing). Matt Kenseth (Roush Fenway Racing) is third ahead of Brian Vickers (Red Bull Racing Team) and Regan Smith (Furniture Row Racing).
Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) will start 22nd just ahead of Sprint Cup leader Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway Racing).
