As the Daytona 500 quickly approaches (February 20), teams fear that victory will be decided more during the refueling phases than thanks to the effects of the new surface? The teams are in fact inaugurating a brand new "refuelling" system, larger and with a longer nose, which makes it possible to couple the distribution and evacuation of gases, thus making it possible to eliminate a mechanic in the pit lane, the latter now numbering six. A novelty that the Nascar desired in an ecological approach. “Going green is good, but first we need to figure out how to put fuel in cars without spilling it. Look on the floor of the garages of each team, you will see a puddle of water,” testified Tony Gibson, the crew chief of Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas).
