Fourth on the starting grid for the Silverstone 1000 Km, Nicolas lapierre appears a little disappointed. But the Frenchman knows the relative importance of endurance qualifying too well to be worried.

“Whether on a wet track or on a dry surface, our 908 HDi FAP is well balanced, says Team Oreca Matmut driver. Through the different situations encountered, we were able to understand how the track evolves depending on the weather. The same goes for the tires. This will be particularly useful if the climate is also changeable during the race. We still have a little work to get the ideal set-up. Qualifying was a little frustrating: I didn't have any clear laps and there was debris on the track. But this only increases our motivation tenfold. We want to impose ourselves.”
