Jeff Gordon was fastest in qualifying for the Texas race. The four-time champion of Nascar there gleans his first pole position of the season. He is ahead of Kasey Kahne, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart and Kyle Busch. Mark Martin is 7th, Jimmie Johnson 12th, Juan Pablo Montoya 20th.
